Designed in 1999, by longtime HOBO designer,
Martha Radford, long before utility was on-trend.
Known to carry a lot of essentials when she
travelled, she needed a bag that made her feel
put-together, without sacrificing a stitch of her
ever-cool style. The Explorer was her gift to
stylish, busy women everywhere.

heavy-hardware era in designer bags, Paulette
was HOBO's expression of the simplicity and
understated beauty of design born to
showcase shape and leather, allowing the bag
to stand out from the rest. We always knew
that quality and cool never go out of style.

Designed by our founder, Toni Ray,
in 1972 in the iconic leather shop where
she learned the art of leather craft.
Originally called the Wine Tote, Ray
designed it to carry a bottle of wine and
a baguette to folk festivals and parties.
