GEORGETOWN LEATHER     |     KOREN MEETS DAVID     |     EST.1991 IN ANNAPOLIS, MD

Explore the Hobo Brand

The Beginning...

Washington, DC 1972
- Fleetwood Mac emanates from the stereo and the smell of leather permeates the air. Boxes of moccasins pile up on the floor, leather fringed jackets hang from hooks and Fender guitars lean against the wall. A young girl plays under the craft bench with scraps of leather and tools the craftsmen have given her. Born into this world of artists and musicians, Koren Ray learns first-hand about creating authentic things that are made to last from her single mother, Toni Ray, in her legendary Georgetown Leather store.

Annapolis, MD 1990 - Grounded in the belief that our possessions should reflect our journey and deserve to be created with beauty, soul and purpose, Toni makes her way with integrity and purpose, seeking inspiration for her craft. Following her passion, she takes her first collection of leather handbags on the road in a beat-up van, and HOBO is born.

Following in her mother’s footsteps, Koren learns firsthand about being committed to hard work, and inherits her mother’s design philosophy: equal parts beauty and flawless functionality with a nostalgic tribute to the ’70’s.

Just back from 10 years of traveling the world with his guitar in tow, David Brewer settles in Annapolis. His nomadic heart and adventurous spirit make him a true American Hobo. He meets Koren, and the rest is history...

Annapolis, MD 2017 - Today David and Koren run Hobo with the same spirit and soul of the ’70’s and carry on the traditions they learned from Toni; authenticity, integrity and the sense of adventure of the legendary brotherhood of freight train riders.
